After posting this, I am downloading my diaryland site in its entirety. I don't know what the future holds. I guess you never do.
and my 2010 Year in Review
Oh, man. Here we go.
I built an RV. Yep, the whole RV. Everything you see except the cab. Unless you have seen Beaut Herself and talked to me/us about this, I don't really expect you to fully get what I mean when I say: I built an RV. And even then, people don't always get it. But we actually did it, which is entirely amazing. Also: Entirely The Crazy.
Aaaaaaaaand..... I got married. Yeah. Isn't that hilarious? I think so. On Wednesday, September 5th, 2012, I got married. And I haven't told anyone yet, because I wanted to get married and keep it a secret. A few of our friends know, but not many. None of our family knows yet, so don't tell.
I think we worked more than ever before, even though I'm not sure I thought that was possible. Lost it at the 'Wagon.... ugh. Broke sales records... again. I quit my job with no direct intention of returning. Figured out/put together a lot of nasty stuff from the past, read a couple of really good non-fiction books, and tried to start a path along embracing health and wholeness from a whole new viewpoint. Broke new ground in the mighty field of Communication.
I don't seem to have made particular new year's resolutions last year.
I kept up with my Yoga for part of the year, but have been slack lately and only doing some minimal stretches... and I can totally tell. I made a few things for myself, one of which -- a knit cowl-- has been super handy. I also finished a warm hat for me, and knit a big stretchy hat that I'm a little iffy about. I like getting back to making a few things for myself, and I particularly enjoy knitting as it's purely recreational at this point - and I really particularly enjoy knitting for myself. :) I think it's a good thing.
-continue to improve my knitting,
-get back to my Yoga, and remember that it's worth it,
-put in some more work on Beaut to get her more trimmed out inside. We got her to up to 'useable', put her into service, and have done very, very little since. When I looked back, it seems that we had built her (the construction phase) in Four Months which is INSANE, so I think it really makes it little surprise that we've been hesitant/slack to get back in there and work much. Three Quarters of the year was Beaut and Nothing But with a Pause for Hellacious Work. The last quarter of the year was Trauma Recovery, which has a strong tendency to Blow.
-I think I could make a serious goal to reread RAR and really put my mind to working through it (writing) --just maybe not go at it all at once this time.
A few of my friends had babies this year. They post pictures on Facebook all the time. It's interesting to see them go from unformed jellyblob to -oh, yeah, there we go, lookin like your parents now-- and then time starts to whisk by and soon they are 2, 4, 5, 6, 7....
4. Did anyone close to you die?
Answer's no here, right?
The US of Sunny FLA. And nowhere else. You'll have to visit me. And it's great here, so that will work just fine. :)
Can I get an IV of PEACE ? I'd like more... internal...peace....
September 5th, 2012, a Wednesday. We drove to the Marion County Courthouse in Ocala, Florida, where we were married. We attained the license the week before. I didn't tell anyone. I worked my last day of work the Friday before. We listened to the new Beebs and Her Money Makers cd on the way there. I think I put in David Greir after that. We took a bunch of pictures of ourselves in the yard. We ate at Ichiban, and bought food at Publix for our private reception at home. We discovered Talenti Sea Salt Caramel gelato, which is so good it will make you steal someone else's baby to sell. We did everything we wanted to, and it was perfect. I never thought I'd willingly say: I am a happily married woman.
The end of the year was such a bitch that finishing Beaut often seems worlds ago.
10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
I was going to say Not Really, but then I remembered that I sort of broke my toe earlier in the year and sustained an acid burn to the face and tore up my hands more than once and got some nasty poison ivy and we were both sick at Wanee (BUT we got to go) and that horrible part where I had to start working on substantial trauma recovery which feels like it's KILLING YOU for sure.
11. What was the best thing you bought?
A brand new epilator! A little piece that makes the cap snap onto my old Braun Silk-Epil broke, so I ended up buying both the same Braun new in green and a new Emjoi. The new Emjoi is red with dual opposed heads, and it turned out to be awesome.
I finally scored a good pair of jeans on Ebay, and started wearing jeans again.
Zanfel. Should you get the poison ivy/oak/sumac, you should also get the Zanfel, because otherwise you still have the poison ivy/oak/sumac. It's expensive, but it works.
Another year of Sirius radio; a Dead blanket with a bear pulling a wagon full of terrapins with a kite, embroidered with GCW on the corner; money loaned from friends to buy Wanee tickets.
12. Where did most of your money go?
Oh, Beaut. And the Wagon. But there was a LOT of Beaut.
Any Road -- Railroad Earth.
– happier or sadder?
crisis & breaking things. blehck.
18. How did you spend Christmas?
We woke up together for the first time ever on Christmas, which was cool. We did Christmas the way we wanted to. We knocked out my family before the 25th, then day-traveled to visit J's side. It was nice... I felt more relaxed than ever, even Jason mentioned that I seemed relaxed. Between us, we were short of money and didn't get much for each other. No dipped chocolate or cheesecake. I made almost all the gifts.
Haha! TV! That's funny! We just listen to the radio.
20. What were your favorite books of the year?
Resurrection After Rape; Letters to Survivors; and The Sexual Healing Journey.
Read 'Em and Grow.
Haha, that's funny... we don't watch films. We were sent the first couple seasons of MacGyver though, and we occasionally pop one of those in. Or a Julia Child DVD.
I turned 31. But what the heck did I do? Oh, I was building Beaut. That's right. I remember being okay with that, and just being relatively happy. That's nice.
24. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
um, maybe not having to tackle really, really, really hard problems head on? Can I say that? Can I still wish to Not Know? Can you even claim that something you know makes you really freakin' strong -- can you claim that your year would have been immeasurably more satisfying if that wasn't thrown in like the world's biggest wrench in the pipeline of life? I don't know. I'd like to think more about working on being immeasurably satisfied with what Is.
Oh, this question that never really dies but is stupid every year! Haaaa!
I started wearing jeans again, which I like. That about covers my fashion concept. Haaaa.
My husband. And some books. The Awesome Love of Friends. And Me. :)
27. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2012.
Sometimes life Really Supremely Sucks. Somehow Love pulls you through. Somehow you pull yourself through when you think that it's absolutely impossible. Never judge, because you don't know what others have Survived.
